Teaching

My teaching is collaborative classroom experiences, discussion, and professional-alignment exercises. I seek to give students permission to succeed and the skills (both technical and personal) to ensure they are able to accomplish their goals. I do this by pushing students to stetch for goals beyond what they current believe they can do, and reflect upon their success and failures at the end of projects, valuing a well-learned lesson from a failure as highly as a high-quality project. One way I ask my students to stretch is through asking students to put their work in to professional spaces such as showcases and online stores, which has contributed to many students surprising themselves when their games win awards or are featured on blogs and websites.
